Zenvo Aurora - Behind the Scenes Exclusive

IN today's day and age, it seems like a brand new hypercar is announced to the world almost weekly, which makes is very difficult to know when a truly good car comes along. In this article, we hope to introduce you to the latest great hypercar and share our unique experience and opinions of the car with you. We begin with a small company located in Sweden called Zenvo Automotive. Zenvo is a high-performance sports car manufacturer known for crafting exclusive and powerful vehicles like the TS1 and the TSR, but the car we got to see is called the Aurora, and it is the latest technical marvel from Zenvo. The Aurora comes in two models, the Tur (Touring), which utilizes 4 wheel drive to deliver impressive on road performance, while it’s counterpart, the Agil (Agile), is a track focused beast designed with impressive cornering and downforce. Both the Agil and the Tur run on a mind blowing V12 engine measuring 6.6 litres in displacement and packing a total of four turbochargers. Named Mjølner, after Thor’s hammer, it produces 1250bhp at 8000rpm before hitting the redline 1800rpm later.

They are also equipped with 1,254 pounds of tourqe, which Zenvo claims can beat the 0-60 time of a Bugatti Chiron Super Sport. All of these factors contribute to the Aurora’s astonishing top speed of 280mph. The interior fittings are made up of a blend of carbon fibre and leather, reminding one of a Pagani Zonda Cabin. With the entire car being crafted out of carbon fibre (excluding the aluminum rims) it is naturally very light, weighing in at 1300kg. Now, let’s talk about rarity. Only 50 models of the Agil and Tur are set to be made, equaling a total of 100 vehicles cementing the Aurora as an extremely exclusive automobile. But all this car comes with an astronomical price tag of €3.6 million! Now, the reason that we are able to tell you so much about the Aurora is because we were given a very special opportunity to spend time with this car, specifically the Agil. Auto Circle is based in Vancouver, BC which is home to a car dealership called Weissach, which specializes in the sale of Porsches. Recently, Weissach partnered with Zenvo to be able to distribute their automobiles through their stores. So to create a buzz surrounding their partnership, the Vancouver Weissach was given both the Agil, and the Tur to display in their dealership for a private, invite only event.

Luckily, we followed up on this lead and visited the Weissach dealership the following day after their launch event in hopes of seeing the Auroras. But to our disappointment, they were cleared off of the showroom floor and seemed to have disappeared. After some further digging we were able to discover that Trailer had come to the dealership at 5:00 in the morning to collect their vehicles and transport them to the next event in Toronto. However, the rear left tie rod had snapped on the Agil, therefore the car could not be transported with the Agil. So there in the service bay of the Weissach garage was the Agil, surrounded by mechanics frantically scrambling to repair the car and prepare it for transport. Now that we knew the Agil was still there, we had to see it up close and personal because it could have been our only chance to see the car. We first tried to gain entry into the garage and were quickly told no due to insurance reasons. We were worried we may have to give up but as we were leaving the garage a mechanic stopped us and said the Agil was being loaded onto a delivery trailer at 7:00 that night after the dealership had closed and if we wanted to see the car, we should come back half an hour before pickup. So that’s exactly what we did. When we returned to the garage, the mechanics allowed us to privately photograph the car.

From talking to the mechanics we were able to learn that the Agil had no engine and was simply a prototype show car only designed to be looked at. After some further questioning, it was revealed to us that the car we were looking at was the only one in existence due to the fact that all of the Auroras are custom built to their owner’s specifications but because the car has not been officially released, no orders have been placed. They also told us about the optional extras list totalling over half a million euros! When the delivery truck finally arrived to pick up the Agil, the mechanics had to push the car up the lane way behind the dealership so it could be loaded onto the truck. Since there was no engine or steering column, the car had to be placed on wheels and turned by hand in order to get it to the truck. The mechanics also needed a Jack to get the car onto the truck and asked me to bring it up the lane for them and assist in the loading process of the car. Here is some video on how everything happened.

We would like to say a massive thank you to the Weissach mechanics who took the time to talk to us and give us the opportunity to show you this very rare behind the scenes footage of the Zenvo Aurora Agil. Now to answer the question we’re sure you’d like to know, is it worth the money? Well, there hasn’t been any official test of the car, only projections offered by Zenvo so before we can rate its performance, we can only marvel at the Aurora’s breathtakingly epic looks and hope for the best. But in our opinion, when the Aurora officially releases it will set a new standard in the world of modern hyper cars and help to further establish Zenvo as a leading brand.
